After the sessions for the implementation of Kaizen given by the Information Technology Department (DGI, Spanish abbreviation) to the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL) Social Service and Professional Practices Department (DSSyPP, Spanish abbreviation,) on October 6th, both departments signed a letter to release the project.
The event was attended by DGI personnel: Ing. Alberto Zambrano Elizondo, Director; Ing. Joaquin Huante Hernandez, Academic Systems Deputy Director; Ing. Linda Lisbeth Gaxiola Lucio, Systems Development and Implementation Coordinator; Lic. Cecilia Vargas Cordero, IT Projects Administrator; and Lic. Abel Castro Garcia, Project Leader.
Lic. Jesus Solis attended this event as the representative of Ing. Alejandro Aguilar from the UANL Quality Management Department.
From the Social Service and Professional Practices Department, the team in charge attended the event, headed by Ing. Francisco Jesus Barrera Cortinas, Director, and Ing. Ma. Lourdes Canseco Mendez, Kaizen System’s Administrator (Document Control).
It is important to mention that the implementation of Kaizen began on July 8th, 2010 when people from the DGI showed the characteristics of the system to qualified personnel of this Department; however, it was until July 14th, 2010, when the project formally began.
Later, the initial training was given on July 29th, 2010 to the Kaizen System Administrator; on August 4th and 6th, the training of the Document Control Module; on August 16th, the Audit, Corrective Actions, and Preventive Actions Modules; on August 18th and 20th, 2010, the Directive Inspections and Continuous Improvement Modules, and the Training of Processes Owners and of Instructors for the Training of Readers.
Nine individuals were trained in Kaizen’s Information System for Quality Management (SIAC, Spanish abbreviation).
DGI’s commitment -related to any doubt, support or problem about the System- was established. “The Kaizen System support continues, do not think that once we finish the project, our support will finish too, we will be in contact through the reports received at the Institutional Center for Support in Information Technology (CIATI, Spanish abbreviation),” commented Vargas Cordero.
At the end of the event, Ing. Zambrano congratulated the Center of Studies and Certification of Foreign Languages personnel for implementing Kaizen, and at the same time, he thanked them for their confidence and support in the achievement of the objective that benefits the institutional center as well as the same UANL.
