The event was attended by UANL President, Dr. Jesus Ancer Rodriguez; School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Principal, Master Esteban Baez Villarreal; Secretary General of the University, Ing. Rogelio Guillermo Garza Rivera, and DGI personnel that participated in the project.
The Department of Information Technology was involved in equipping this new space that has a meeting room, five videoconference rooms, four wireless network units, data network and optical fiber trajectory. This new area is integrated into the UANL Institutional Network with an investment of 12 million 196 thousand and 385 pesos by giving access services to Institutional Systems, Internet, Internet2, wireless network, telephony and videoconference.
The wireless network will allow employees, students and visitors to get online through mobile devices; furthermore, sessions of interactive video –with infrastructure in videoconference- may be carried out to any place in the world even in high definition; both services of communication were not available before.
From the inauguration, there is access to different institutional systems in the graduate studies building such as the Integrated System for the Academic Services Management (SIASE, Spanish abbreviation), UANL Website, E-mail, Platform of Teaching and Learning (Nexus), Libraries System (Codice), etc.
The inauguration of this new floor of the graduate studies area will allow emptying facilities –and spaces with use- of the current building to attend a larger number of students with quality.
