With a total investment of 57 million pesos, from which 7 million 18 thousand 562 pesos are for information technology infrastructure, the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon inaugurated the General Directorate of Sports Administrative Tower.
The inauguration -carried out on October 13th 2010- was attended by the state Secretary of Education, Ing. Jose Antonio Gonzalez Trevino, who was representing Governor Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz; the Leading Academic Institution President, Dr. Jesus Ancer Rodriguez; UANL Secretary General, Ing. Rogelio Garza Rivera and the Sports Director, Ing. Jaime Vallejo.
This building, located in the east side of the University Olympic Aquatic Center, is equipped with modern technology, since it has the most sophisticated equipment of connectivity, communications and computing.
All the equipping was carried out by the Information Technology Department, led by Ing. Alberto Zambrano Elizondo who walked -with UANL President and invited figures- around the building during the inauguration.
Dr. Jesus Ancer -the Leading Academic Institution President- and the invited figures cut the opening ribbon of this modern building which has administrative offices, the University Sports Museum, a digital library, two meeting rooms, two multipurpose rooms and the Feeding and Nutrition Service that gives service to university athletes.
All the new building communication equipment was integrated into the UANL Institutional Network; the Information Technology Department provided also the data network and regulated energy, videoconference, telephones, wireless network and technological equipment infrastructure for its perfect operation.
The DGD new facilities infrastructure has a category 5 network wiring which allows velocities of 100 Mbps; it also includes a platform of Cisco technology communication equipments that fill the necessities required for the internal network bandwidth.
Besides that, it has access to the different institutional systems such as the Integrated System for Academic Services Administration (SIASE, Spanish acronym), CODICE (Integrated System of Libraries Administration), UANL Webpage, etc.
With these facilities, the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon increases its infrastructure, this time in the sports area, since this building becomes a coordination and of linking center that helps in the strengthening of the UANL sport projects and programs.
