The Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL) School of Physics and Mathematics Research Center (CICFIM, Spanish abbreviation), was inaugurated on Monday, January 17th; it was equipped with the high-technology thanks to the Information Technology Department collaboration.
The building was integrated to the UANL Institutional Network, which provides the access to Institutional Systems, Internet, Internet2, Wireless Network and Telephony.
When the School of Physics and Mathematics (FCFM, Spanish abbreviation) Principal, Professor Patricia Martinez Moreno, was asked about DGI participation in the project, she mentioned “Yes, they were always attentive, since the beginning of this project.”
During the first stage, the building was equipped with 105 network nodes, three fiber optic paths, five communication equipments, 11 IP telephones, four WUANL wireless access points, 30 computers and one printer, besides the Wireless Network installation.
Three electric screens, a smart board, a plasma display and a cabling on each level of the building for the distribution of the data network, telephony and wireless network were also installed.
“They made our project, they have explained us which would be our basic infrastructure -and the most complete one- so we can continue growing (…) Everything was great since the beginning, we have received a really good service from this Department (DGI),” mentioned Professor Martinez Moreno.
“They -the DGI- are a consolidated and very professional team, we are surprised by the efficient way in which they work. The project was on time and with the quality we needed, something usual in that department,” said Doctor Jose Luis Comparan Elizondo, one of the leaders of the institutional building.
The building that will be head office of the School of Physics and Mathematics Graduate Studies is located behind the same School and has administrative offices, classrooms, laboratories, cubicles for students and professors.
