The Department of Information Technology was in charge of organizing the training seminar for catalogers and libraries personnel, which was carried out for first time out of Mexico City.
The seminar named ‘Recursos: descripción y acceso (RDA) y sus modelos conceptuales’ –Resources: Description and Access (RDA) and its Conceptual Models, in English- was made for professional catalogers, Libraries Systems Managers and technical staff and was carried out on November 16th.
The seminar took place in the DGI facilities and fulfilled the objective of training participants in the international new code of cataloguing as well as making its management and application easier.
The Instituto Mexicano de la Administracion del Conocimiento A.C. (IMAC) -Mexican Institute for the Administration of Knowledge, in English- was the institution in charge of the event. The organization was made by the DGI with the Department of Libraries approval and the seminar was given by Ageo Garcia Barbosa, Latin American Advising Board for the Catalogs Cooperation President.
Most of the audience that attended the seminar belongs to the different UANL institutional buildings such as ‘Capilla Alfonsina’ Library, the School of Political Science and Public Administration as well as the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
Likewise, personnel from external institutions such as the Universidad de Monterrey and the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila also attended the training. People who attended the event were satisfied with the seminar and they hope the giving of more of seminars like. this.
