With the purpose of making the verification of attendance to a series of lectures given more efficient in the celebration of the School of Physics and Mathematics (FCFM, Spanish abbreviation) anniversary, the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon Information Technology Department services were requested.
The registration system -implemented by the DGI in the lectures for this School 57th anniversary- consisted of a digital scanner which worked with UANL students’ official card.
As part of the services given by the DGI, Joaquin Huante Hernandez, Academic Systems Deputy Director, and engineers Linda Lisbeth Gaxiola Lucio and Abel Castro Garcia from the Systems Development and Implementation Area, went to the FCFM facilities to verify the good operation of the equipment which was being used.
This is the first time that the DGI installs a digital scanner; it was verified through different tests and validations, in order to fulfill the DGI quality standards.
Miriam Vargas from the FCMF, considered as really good the service given by the DGI. “We wanted to use the technology we already had with cards, not to use new programs but what we already have that is modern and innovative,” she mentioned.
Vargas said she was interested in requesting the DGI registration system service again and she recommended it to other institutional buildings because she assured that it is quicker and people from different schools can be registered since the requirement is the UANL card.
