
The Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL), Department of Information Technology (DGI, Spanish abbreviation), was in charge of supplying technologically to the new facilities of Preparatoria 4 (high school) Galeana extension.
On September 10th, the building was inaugurated, and besides the official tour, the state, municipal and institutional authorities had a distant conversation with DGI head in order to test the tool of videoconference.
The link was established among Ing. Alberto Zambrano, who was at the DGI facilities, and state Governor, Lic. Rodrigo Medina de la Cruz; mayor, Raul Ramirez Cerda; UANL President, Dr. Jesus Ancer Rodriguez; Jose Antonio Gonzalez Trevino, Secretary of Education in Nuevo Leon, and professor Martin Gonzalez Aguilar, Preparatoria 4 principal, who were at the high school.
Data network (76 services and conduit), the network of regulated energy (91 services and conduit), and an optical fiber trajectory are among the material supplied to the institution, as it was mentioned in the videoconference.
Likewise, four communication devices were given, and ten telephone devices were installed.
Six interactive whiteboards and video projectors were installed in six intelligent classrooms, besides 51 computers, five printers (4 laser printers and 1 dot printer), one retractable screen, and other accessories.
“Thanks to this joint effort, thanks to the University we are making the dream of having a high school in Galeana real,” said Governor during the event.
We have to mention that with the support and services given to the Preparatoria 4 Galeana extension, this unit is added to the UANL Institutional Network by providing services of access to Institutional Systems, Internet, Internet2 and telephony.
